Church History is important!

Why is it important to study Church History? What would be the benefit if we will study Church History?

In the very first day of our class in Church History this question was the first two question I met in this class. And It made me wonder when I was asked this kind of question. For me it is very important to study Church History because it help me to appreciate more those people who really prove that this faith that I have is not just a myth but it is really true. Because there is time that I asked my self what if this what I believing no is not real it just a myth. What if this I believe right now is the false teaching and many more question that come up to my mind before. But when I had this class right now even though we are just in 3rd week of the semester some of my question was answered by study the History of the Church. Studying the History of the Church is not for knowledge but it also help us to stand firm of our faith to Christ. We know that it will not help us to be saved only the our faith to Christ Jesus can made us saved but studying it will help us to make thing clear. Like when we study History of the Church we learn how God's plan for redemption has been worked until now in this present time it also demonstrate the truth of Christianity. There is saying in order for a person to understand himself he/she need to understand were she/he came from. It just like studying the Church History we need to study it for us to know why we still and strongly believe in this faith we have to Christ. And we can also compare our faith to the faith of those people in the 1st century. And also by studying on it it gives perspective to us of how we study the scripture. As we share the word of God to others some will ask why are we doing that? or how sure we are that it is true? without using the Bible how can we answered that question? Here the history of the Church will help us to answer those question. If we  will just study where our believe came from we can answer those question that people ask to us and maybe and I assume they will be convince. I don't have a lot of word to say but as I reflect to our discussion last last week it is very important for a believer of Christ to study the History of the Church were it came from and how it begun and it will also help us to  answer those question about our faith that made us doubt. For me studying it is not just for knowledge purpose only but it help me and strengthen my faith to God that this what I believe right now is not just myth but it really true.
